Welcome, Panthers!
Greetings! I teach Business Information Management and Digital & Interactive Media classes here at Austin High School. My education includes earning a B.B.A. in Management from the University of Texas at El Paso. Prior to teaching I gained several years experience in the financial industry sector holding several positions at a local credit union. I also gained experience in the public sector working in Human Resources Management for the City of El Paso. I subsequently decided to pursue a personal goal and became certified to teach Business. I have since become a Microsoft Certified Educator and continue my growth and development as a teacher by participating in several training opportunities to include a summer fellowship with the New York Stock Exchange. On a personal note, I love to travel, hike and keep learning!
As your teacher, my goal is to encourage you to start exploring career and higher academic options now . There are many opportunities for our youth but before we can embark on your important journey, we must prepare you with the necessary tools for success. In my classes, in addition to our subjects and working with technology, you will also hone your english and communication skills as they are vital for your success in college, and your professional career. The concepts learned in Business classes will make students successful consumers and employees in the future.
Students and parents, I hope you enjoy this website and refer to it frequently for important dates, assignments, and other pertinent information related to your student's subjects.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Cristian Guardiola on earning a much coveted spot with El Paso Electric!
This is a very sought after opportunity and one that will certainly propel our students' career and educational goals. Two Austin High School Juniors, Cristian Guardiola and Damian Velasquez, have been selected to participate in an 8 week, paid summer internship where they will have the opportunity to work with high- level professionals within the industry and students from other schools. Students will also benefit from company sponsored trainings and mentoring that will help them strengthen their leadership skills and their professional resumes.
This was no easy task, our students had to go through a stringent selection process that included submitting a resume and essay plus undergo 2 rounds of panel interviews... only a few survived. Do you think you can do it? If you'll be a Junior next year, be on the look out during Spring 2015 and apply. I challenge you!
