Your performance in class will be observed & taken into account every day.
DAILY CLASS PROCEDURES:
1. Enter the room quietly & orderly; sign the attendance log and be seated before the tardy bell rings
2. Check Echo for daily assignments/updates
3. Pay attention and remain quiet when the teacher is talking or a student is presenting (i.e. giving instructions, reviewing material, etc.)
4. Work on your class assignments to the best of your ability and until the bell rings; the bell does not dismiss you, your teacher does
5. SAVE and submit your work as instructed and scheduled
6. Conduct yourself in a professional manner; this is a business class (monitor your language and keep your hands to yourself)
Login Account Privacy
Students will be provided with login accounts to allow them to store and retrieve files created for classroom assignments. Passwords and user logins are not to be shared with anyone for any reason. Activity that occurs while an account is being used is the responsibility of the account owner. It is the student’s responsibility to log off when walking away from their computer. Keep your hands and eyes on your own computer.
RULES:
Students are responsible for their own learning and behavior. Students must not interfere with another student’s right to learn and should conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
In order for the students to achieve success in this program, they must comply with the following rules:
1. Be in their seat and ready to work before the tardy bell rings
2. Protect the equipment from damage and report any damage immediately
- To protect the equipment, NO food, drinks, candy/gum in class
3. Electronics are not allowed in class unless Ms. Gutierrez has granted permission when necessary for a class project.
This includes, the following: Earbuds, Phones, iPods, Tablets, MP3 Players, Digital Cameras/Recorders, etc.
- If I see it, I pick it up. 1st offense, the device will be returned after class. 2nd offense, I will turn in to Administration and student will pay a fee
4. Treat each person in this room with respect; profanity and arguing in class are NOT permitted
5. Follow directions the first time they are given
6. No talking or making noises, especially during:
- Class instruction/Presentations
- Announcements
- When visitors enter the classroom
7. Follow ALL procedures and policies as outlined in the EPISD/Austin High School handbooks (this includes dress code and internet access agreement)
8. Remain in your seat unless you have permission to leave it; Do NOT leave the classroom without permission and remain in your seat until the bell rings
- Any student that walks out of class without permission, will be referred to the Assistant's Principal's Office
9. During a fire drill remain together as a class (so that I may keep track of where you are) and return to class promptly as instructed
Students that fail to return to class promptly after a fire drill will be subject to disciplinary action
10. If there should be a Substitute Teacher at any time, be respectful, follow their instructions and be on your best behavior
CONSEQUENCES:
If the student is unsuccessful in fulfilling the above expectations, one or more of the following consequences will be carried out:
1. A verbal warning
2. Student/Teacher conference and after-school detention with Teacher (30 minutes)
-Should student choose to miss assigned detention, they will be referred to the Assistant's Principal office
3. Parent/Teacher communication (via email, phone call or in person)
4. Referral to Assistant Principal
SEVERE CLAUSE:
Any student who is found cheating, uses profanity, fights, damages school property (this includes property of the teacher and other students), or is disrespectful (as defined by the teacher) will be sent to the office IMMEDIATELY and/or be issued a Disciplinary Referral.
